The average American generates 4.4 pounds of trash per day, adding to the grand total of about 254 million tons of trash the United States accumulates per year. American communities recycled and composted nearly 35% of municipal solid waste in 2013, diverting 87 million tons to recovery according to the U.S. EPA.
WHAT ARE WE DOING?
Boulder City now has expanded its citywide, comprehensive “no sort” recycling program. It’s simple and has proven to increase recycling rates virtually overnight. Since the program's inception, residential recycling volumes have doubled and business recycling has grown by 400%!
HOW CAN YOU PARTICIPATE?
Everyone can be a part of this effort. Recycling is available for single-family and multi-family residences, including apartments, mobile home parks and RV Parks. The recycling program also includes schools, parks and businesses -- so no matter where you are in Boulder City, you can help us keep our community thriving.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Recyclables may be brought to the Boulder City Landfill for recycling from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., seven days a week (excluding New Year’s Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas).
